i would go at this using vectors cause it's mechanical and just works; but there's no doubt a bunch of other approaches. you could draw this and get out a compass and protractor, if you liked. you could use calculus. so, what are you learning, right now? do you want to have a crack at it in a particular way??

one thing you can do is impose Pythagoreas on it it's a right angle so it has to satisfy Pythag |dw:1438976502300:dw| ie plug in for \(AB^2 = PA^2 + PB^2\) and see where you go
