Which statement best describes the graph of -x3 - x2 + 4x + 4? It starts down on the left and goes up on the right and intersects the x-axis at x = -2, 2, and 4. It starts down on the left and goes up on the right and intersects the x-axis at x = -2, -1, and 2. It starts up on the left and goes down on the right and intersects the x-axis at x = -2, -1, and 2. @Michele_Laino Could you help?

Nnesha (nnesha):

x-intercept where the graph of the equation cross x-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried making a graph about this but i couldnt really find anything...

Nnesha (nnesha):

if the highest degree is an odd number then if leading coefficient is negative =right end will fall & left end will rise if leading coefficient is positive then= right end will rise &left end will fall

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can I show you the graph I got?

Nnesha (nnesha):

sure!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok let me put it on a png hold on

Nnesha (nnesha):

nice so what are the points where graph cross the xx-axiss

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2,-1, and 2

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it starts up on the left

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be C or D.,... I think it would be c

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes you got the 3 x-intercept first thing is to cancel out A and C cuz they have different x-intercetp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much!!!

Nnesha (nnesha):

my pleasure.
