09.06 Option 1 This is an independent project. You are going to write a fairy tale! Your story should include all of the standard elements of fairy tales. Begins "Once upon a time … " Animals can act like humans. Involves magical items or helpers. Ends " … happily ever after." Your story must also fully cover these math concepts. This is an educational fairy tale … the best kind! Create a quadratic function with two real zeros. Solve a system of non-linear equations with a graph. Solve a system of non-linear equations with a table. Compare linear, quadratic, and exponential gr

I just did this a few days ago xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please may i see your work so i can understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like send me the file

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what you should do, is just either make your own quadratic function with two real 0's, or find one online

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill give you the non linear stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first one i used was xy=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i used a graph for that one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(Use this site for graphs https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tbh i dont know how to do it at all or even where to start thats why i wanted you to send my your file i promise i will not copy i cant because i am on flvs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^2+3y=7 was the one i used for the table one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X 2x^2+3y=7 2 -3 4 -19 6 -45 8 -83

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then I just used a mythical creature to help the hero go through the stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can use any animal. The most common one is a pig

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used a bear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help me write it and do it please so i can understand where to put everything perfectly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So start it off with once upon a time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay got that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you want to name your character and what type of animal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

giraff named dot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright so "Once upon a time, Dot the Giraffe was reading about quadratic functions"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay got thatt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you want him to fall asleep or get kidnapped by skeleton pirates?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

xD (my imagination is wild)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha uumm fall asleep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Once upon a time, Dot the giraffe was reading a book about quadratic functions. He soon fell asleep as he read the function -x^3-x^2+4x+4"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yess mam got thatt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(hold up im pulling up my story)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once upon a time, Dot the giraffe was reading a book about quadratic functions. He soon fell asleep as he read the function -x^3-x^2+4x+4. Dot woke up in a very wild land. In front of Dot there was a clarinet. Dot picked up the clarinet and started playing. Instead of music coming out, a riddle came out! "What starts with a capital and ends with a hook?" Dot thought about it for a second, and then (he or she idk what gender you want) chirped "A question!". (he or she) started playing the clarinet again and the clarinet said "You need to solve xy=7 using a graph to get out of the wonderland

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You like so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yesss! whats next lol what happens

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Graph paper and pen appeared in front of Dot, and Dot started to draw the graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that the graph for it specifiaclly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay then what madam (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dot picked up the clarinet and started playing. "Now, is the answe (7,0), (0,7), or no solution?" Dot thought long and hard about it and said "No solution!". He (or she) closed their eyes and opened. (he or she) thought (he or she) would be back home!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is dot a boy or girl?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

girl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright. Where i put (he or she) just put she or her

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dot frowned and protested. "This isn't fair! You said I could go home!". Dot played the clarinet again. "Go to the volcano of glitter, that is where you will go home". Dot sighed and made her way to the volcano of glitter, following the signs. Then she got to a path.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woah !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

volcano of glitter <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

She played the clarinet again. "Before you can go to the volcano of glitter, you nee to solve ONE MORE THING! Solve 2x^2+3y=7 using a table! Then you can go on!". Signs for the paths appeared. The first sign said No Solution, The second sign said infinite, the third said (4,-19), AND (-19,4).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dot drew the table on the path she was standing on: X 2x^2+3y=7 2 -3 4 -19 6 -45 8 -83 She walked on the path that said (4,-19).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The path picked her up, and made her float to the volcano of glitter. The volcano rumbled and a question appeared on the ground. "Oh great, another one!" Dot expressed. Dot looked down at the ground. "Do exponential functions exceed linear and quadratic?". Dot thought about it and said Yes. The Volcano of glitter opened up, and sucked Dot up. Dot woke up in her bed, out of breath. "Thats the last time I will EVER read books about quadratic functions before bed!". Then she lived happily ever after.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I added some kawaii pictures to make it cuter :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you like it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i lovveee it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that all?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@spooderwoman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sorry back
