I will medal and fan! Can you give me an example for monomial polynomial, binomial, trinomial, degree of a term, degree of a polynomial.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well some basics monomial has 1 term binomial has 2 terms and trinomial has 3 terms the degree of a polynomial is the highest positive power e.g r = t^2 degree 2 degree of a term is the power of the variable in the term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i know that! LOL. Can you help me do an example! @campbell_st

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so monomial... write the equation of a line with only 1 term...

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

make it a straight line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6^2?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well to start, that's not an equation... so a monimial y = 3x polynomial degree 1 since the power of x is 1 term degree is 1 y = -5x^2 quadratic degree 2 term degree is 2 but you knew that

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so for a binomial you need 2 terms..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6^2+7^2?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

try using x and y... but you should know that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok :]
