OpenStudy (cutebunny12):

A recipe for molding dough calls for flour and salt in a ratio of 2 to 3. If you use 6 cups of salt, how much flour should you use?

OpenStudy (ccswims):

for every 2 cups of flour you use 3 cups of salt. which means your salt will always go up in increments of 3 and your flour will always go up in increments of 2

OpenStudy (ccswims):

if the salt goes up in increments of 3, and it is at 6 now that means it only moved up one place. so your flour will only move up one place

OpenStudy (ccswims):

which means you would use 4 cups of flour

OpenStudy (ccswims):

plus if you simplify 4/6 it equals 2/3 or 2:3 the original ratio

OpenStudy (cutebunny12):

thank you
