area=area of rectangle + area of the semicircle
radius of the semicircle is half the side y
\[r=\frac{y}{2}=\frac{12}{2}=6ft\]
Now just add the area's
\[A=xy+\frac{\pi.r^2}{2}\]
Note since it's a semi circle we are taking it's area as half of a full circle
and area of rectangle is of course length times width
