true or false: the motion of a pendulum for which the maximum displacement from equilibrium varies is an example of simple harmonic motion.

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

depends on whose asking a pendulum is *approximated* by shm because strictly speaking the restorative force is not proportional to displacement. second, you mention " maximum displacement from equilibrium varies", and not sure what that means.... i'd say yes in the pub, but i'd wonder if asked by a "proper scientist"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea what you just said! but thanks I'll go with true!

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

cool! sounds like we're doing pub science, which is 'the' best type !!!!
