OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know i foiled but im confused. can i show you what i got?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so i got x^3 - 3x^2 + 5x - 4x^2 + 12x -20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but when you combine the -3x^2 and the - 4x^2, do you get -1x^2 or -7x^2

OpenStudy (mrnood):

Multiply (x – 4)(x2 – 3x + 5). is the same as (x)(x2 – 3x + 5)- (4)(x2 – 3x + 5). distribute thos 2 and add then collect the common terms together
