Describe the behavior of the graph below. Graph: http://prntscr.com/83kqkk Choices: http://prntscr.com/83kr5o Please help, I dont know if I'm correct
From left to right, is the graph increasing or decreasing?
increasing
yes. is it increasing everywhere?
its only increasing when x>8 right?
@Shalante
increasing means gaining which is going up.
what do you think now?
C?
I thought it was x>8 because the x is increasing to 8. But is it increasing all of the values though?
increasing at x>8 means at the x values at greater than 8 increases. That is also true, but x increases at all x makes sense more.
it increases when x>8, it feels like saying that x<8 decreases You know x is the vertical coordinates and y is the horizontal coordinates right?
So it would be C? Sorry, I was never good with these problems in school
is x vertical or horizontal in a coordinate plane. I cannot give you the answer because this is one of the easiest problems you will ever see.
horizontal
x<8 means the x values greater than 8 in the coordinate planes |dw:1439336382284:dw| those values 9,10,11 are greater than 8 so they are (x greater than 8) which is the same as x>8
|dw:1439336475653:dw| as you can in the x coordinate which is horizontal that means it goes from left to right if it goes from left to right, it cross x values. for example from x=1 to x=2 to x=3 to x=5 and so on as it goes from x=1 to x=2 x=3 it increases which means it goes up
that means not only x>8 increases but all of it.
Okay I see now. Thank you
no problem.
