What is a viewing rectangle?

OpenStudy (lilymq):

I need to graph [-5,5,0] by [-5,5,0] in a viewing rectangle

OpenStudy (lilymq):

[-5,5,1] by [-5,5,1] *** sorry

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

As far as I am aware, a viewing rectangle is literally the view settings on your calculator. For instance: XMin = -5, XMax = 5, YMin = -5, and YMax = 5 defines a viewing rectangle.

OpenStudy (lilymq):

where do I find the xMin stuff?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

What model calculator are you using?

OpenStudy (lilymq):

i'm using an online graphing calculator https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

Ah, I am familiar with that, You should see a little option button next to the Home button on the right side of the screen.

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

It looks like a wrench... if I recall correctly. I'm going to the website now.

OpenStudy (lilymq):

oh okay, found it

OpenStudy (lilymq):

then what?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

You won't see XMin, XMax, etc. that is only for things like TI calculators, but you should see range setting -10<= x<= 10, and stuff to set the domains correctly.

OpenStudy (lilymq):

ooh I see. thank you so much!

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

You're welcome I hope that helps! :)

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

And if you click the wrench again the settings go away (you probably figured that out already though). :)
