what is the name of the shape graphed by the function r=1-2sin theta? A. cardioid B. circle C. Line D. Limacon with inner loop

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it Cardioid?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

First thing you should do is attempt to graph the function. Once you do this you will see something like this picture:|dw:1439354889069:dw|

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

This is similar to a cardioid, but not quite the same. Notice that this has an "inside loop." Cardioids don't have this feature. Now that I've mentioned the "inside loop," you'll probably be able to figure out which answer choice is correct. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm sure it isn't B or C

OpenStudy (lynfran):

its the last one i think.. http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Limacon.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was D thanks.
