OpenStudy (biohazard9064):

wow I dont know this one sry

OpenStudy (phi):

do you know the slope of either line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok :) and no i dont :/

OpenStudy (phi):

match your equation with y = m x + b m (i.e. the number in front of x) is the slope what is the slope of your lines?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.5

OpenStudy (phi):

-3.5 for both equations. in other words they have the same slope lines with the same slope are parallel parallel lines do not intersect (cross)

OpenStudy (phi):

a "solution" is the point that lies on both lines (which would be where they cross) if the lines do not cross, what do you think the solution is ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

theres no solution?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, there is no point that is on both lines at the same time so no solution. btw, if the equations were the *same* then the lines would lie on top of each other, and there would be lots of solutions (an infinite number)

thnx :D
