a box plot is the only graph of the 3 that uses quartiles to create the plot, arrange the numbers in order smallest to largest both smallest and largest will be plotted in the box plot find the median then find the lower quartile... or middle of the bottom half of the data. then repeat the process for the upper half... the 5 statistics lower score, lower quartile, median, upper quartile and high score are all used to create a box plot
