Can someone please help me? I'm trying to understand noun clauses, and my reading isn't helping me figure it out at all. This is an example of one of the assignment questions: Select the correct noun clause in the sentence below. Then choose the function of the noun clause. Whoever finishes her dinner first gets to serve dessert. Noun clause: Function of clause:

Whoever finishes her dinner is the noun clause, it acts as the noun. Its not "whoever" because that could be anyone, it is "whoever finishes her dinner"
