A pair of equations is shown below: y = 2x − 1 y = 4x − 5 Part A: In your own words, explain how you can solve the pair of equations graphically. Write the slope and y-intercept for each equation that you will plot on the graph to solve the equations. Part B: What is the solution to the pair of equations? help explain this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the solution would be 2,3 here is a picture

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

plot both lines on the number plane and then look for the intersection... the point of intersection is the point that is common to both lines...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what part about it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you gave a set of equations in slope intercept form that needed to be solved, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you asked for that system of equations to be solved. Am I right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so you have two different equations in slope intercept form. And it is asking you to "...solve the pair of equations graphically..." so you just graph the lines.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 2x − 1 y = 4x − 5 use this website to graph systems of equations: https://www.desmos.com/calculator I am assuming you are doing some online school or practice over the summer so when you get further you can still use this for polynomials and other types of systems. For Part A just describe the graph of the system.
