Sanford can assemble a computer in 60 minutes. Colleen can assemble a computer in 40 minutes. If they work together, how many minutes does it take them to assemble a computer? 5 minutes 6 minutes 20 minutes 24 minutes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im thinking 20 mins am icorrect?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to solve this, the easy way would be the product of the two divided by the sum of the two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 60x40/60+40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought To solve this you do 1/x + 1/y and the denominator over the numerator of the solution is the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

igot 1400

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you add 1/40 + 1/60. If they work together, it shouldn't be more than by themselves.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are multiple ways to solve this but the simplest and quickest is the product of the two divided by the sum of the two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simply what is 60 times 40. divide that by 60 plus 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wasn't taught that, but as long as it comes out with the right answer, it works! If it does, I would have learned something too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its always good to learn something new!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so c is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no the answer is not c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your way came out with 24, just like mine! I did learn something today!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
