The height of a cylinder is 3 units. Its radius is 10 units. What is the volume of the cylinder, in cubic units? (Use π = 3.14) a.314 cubic units b.942 cubic units c.3,140 cubic units d.9,420 cubic units

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

What is the formula for the volume of a cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember that the formula of a cylinder volume is \[V=\pi \color{red}{r ^{2}}\color{green}h\] where r is radius and green is height, by replacing with \[\color{red}r=10, \color{green}h=3\] So \[V=3.14\cdot\color{red}{10^{2}}\cdot \color{green}3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i multiply them together?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

Yes, multiplication is often represented by little dots \[\cdot\] or by "x"s \[\times\] but they mean the same thing. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but when i multiplied 3.14 by 100 and by three it equaled to 942 and thats not one of the answers
