OpenStudy (anonymous):

*will medal* Two gears are connected and are rotating simultaneously, the smaller gear has a radius of 4 inches and the larger gear has a radius of 8 inches. 1. What is the angle measure, in degrees and rounded to the nearest tenth, through which the larger gear has rotated when the smaller gear has made a rotation? 2.) How many rotations will the smaller gear make during one complete rotation of the larger gear?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

the tangential speed of the point of contact on each wheel will be the same, that is \(v_1 = v_2 \implies \omega_1 \ r_1 = \omega_2 \ r_2\) and thus \(\theta_1 \ r_1 = \theta_2 \ r_2\)
