There have been many film adaptations of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein. How do most film adaptations differ from the original text version of the story?

They make the story more exciting by only giving Victor’s version. They create more sympathy for the creature by giving him a back story. They create less sympathy for the creature by making him a mindless beast. They are less complex because they lack the multiple perspectives of the novel.
