Hydrogeology Question: What do you call groundwater concentrated with calcium & magnesium from passing through dolomite and limestone? Is it drinkable? Medal and fan for the first to answer correctly within 24 hours.

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

Wouldn't it be hard water and it is drinkable as they haven't found any adverse effects of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct. Depends on the concentration though. It is only undrinkable of 10000 mg/L or more, which is rare except maybe in areas of groundwater where to flows through mineral rich caves..

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

Makes sense I'm just familiar with hard water cause that's what I get here, it's drinkable but it has a weird taste to it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it does. Highly saturated. Gratz!
