can this be a good answer? Two ways that scientists can date fossils found in the earth are relative and absolute dating. Relative dating is a way to find the age of an object by comparing it to the things around the object or an event in time. This method gives us an estimated age. Absolute dating gives us the specific age. We can find this by examining the material that makes up the object.
