What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Heron's Law and Perpendicular Offsets (1/2 bh)
The advantage is that each one requires a different set of given information, and therefore are not interchangeable. So we have two formulas for two different situations. Heron's formula is when all three sides are given. The formula requires more computations. bh/2 is when one side and the height (perpendicular to that side) are given. This formula is easy to use, but does not satisfy all situations.
