Reduce 252/1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi, ok so what is the first step here, DO you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically to reduce, we want to divide the numerator and the denominator by the same number, so lets start with 2. 252/2 = 126 1000/2 = 500 Our new fraction is 126/500. But this can be simplified farther. What is a common multiple of 126/500?

Ok. So... starting from 252/1000. Our GCF (greatest common factor) is 4. All we need to do is divide by 4. 252/4 = 63 1000/4 = 250 Our final simplified fraction is 63/250. Hope this helps, PLEASE give me a medal.

The GCF in the this case is 4. So divide both denominator and numerator by 4 and tell me what you got :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Excellency I already answered...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okayyy, so no one else can answer it? :|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha ok sorry, just looked like you were putting the same thing... Go right ahead. I will give you a medal if your response is better than mine... Lol JK I will you a medal anyway
