Erika calculated that she would spend $115 on school supplies this year. She actually spent $82.50 on school supplies. What is Erika’s percent of error
i worked this one out and still could not figure it out.
ok two steps for this question the first think you need is the actual error, not the percent in other words \[115-82.50\]
72.5
hmm not what i get...
32.5
that is better !
i did it backwards on accident.
then compare to the original amount by division which is a complicated way of saying compute \[\frac{32.5}{115}\]or on a calculator do \[32.5\div 115\]
you get a rather long decimal, so round a little what do you get?
0.300
sorry, im not good at dividing
maybe rounded a little too much
i would say perhaps \(0.28\)
like i said, use a calculator you got one?
i did, im not good at rounding either.
actually i am being silly if you are on a computer, do not bother with a calculator, use this http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=32.5%2F115
you can see that you get about \(0.28\) which, as a percent, is \(28\%\)
yes
and that is your final answer
if you are going to round for percents, probably good to round to two places at least
Yea that sounds better, but thankyou
you are quite welcome !
now i have a question what is your favorite horror movie?
oh my favorite horror movie would have to be the human centipede
