If f(x) = {(2, 5), (3, 7), (4, 12)} h(x) = {(1, 6), (2, 4), (3, 2), (4, 5)} g(x) = x^2 - 9 then determine (f+g+h)(4)?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

(f+g+h)(4) is the same thing as f(4) + g(4) + h(4)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

step 1 is to find the values of f(4), g(4) and h(4) step 2 is to add up all of those values in step 1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

for example in f(x) we have f(x) = {(2, 5), (3, 7), (4, 12)} locate the point with x coordinate 4. That point is (4,12) so that tells us f(4) = 12
