I need help on 02.04 Give me liberty?? I will give medals
K, but where is the actual question?
First step is to pick two grievances I chose: No trials by jury and Unfair taxes. Next step Your task is to write a fictional newspaper story assuming that the Declaration of Independence was never written. Assume that the United States does not exist, as it is still a British colony. Imagine that the same issues that the colonists experienced in the late 1700s are still happening today! Your assignment is to choose two of the grievances to incorporate into a story as if they were still occurring. Your story should show the impact that this has on the citizens today. Be creative!
I don't think I can actually write this fictional paper for you, but I can help you do it. Judging by this assignment, it looks like u r learning about the american revolution, correct?
yes and thanks whatever can help ill take. @flatouthero
No problem. So in that case, I would say the best topic for your paper would be the unfair taxes, since it's less complicated to research, and it greatly initiated the American Revolution.
okay. what do I do first? @flatouthero
Well, first, you can come up with a title. You can be creative with that...
But otherwise, you can mention how the taxes are unfair, as in how high they are. You could also mention the idea of "taxation with representation." Are you familiar with that term?
But one thing to keep in mind, is that the British take in all of the wealth, and that your "colony" is suffering and should be able to make its own choices of what to tax, rather than the British.
Do you see where I'm headed so far?
yes I am. what about "over-pricing taxes" @flatouthero
Taxes are not over-priced per se, rather they are just high. Taxes are different than prices, because the government regulates them. The British taxed the colonies to make profit off of the people living there.
so, "highly taxes" ? @flatouthero
So now, you can mention the following in your newspaper article: -Taxes exceed the commonwealth of the colonists -As a separate colony, we should be able to make our own decisions on what to tax -The British will continue to tax tea and other goods if we continue to buy from them And yes, you may use "high taxes" but not "highly."
But, that's not your title, is it?
okay good. so now how do i arrange it so it looks like a nice newspaper. and I was thinking, "high taxes' i m not really sure what to use. @flatouthero
Your title should be more "flamboyant" because you want to attract readers. Something like "No Mercy From The British" sounds good, but that's just my opinion. You can arrange it as if you are writing an essay. Begin with a nice introduction, give a paragraph for each of the topics we found, and end it off with a nice conclusion, something about how the colonists should come to action.
@LeilaniC99 do u still need help?
