Britain flooded Ireland with manufactured goods, hurting local producers. Britain bankrupted most Irish manufacturers. Britain bought out most Irish farms.as far as i know irelands economy as only ever benefitted from Britain the british pay Ireland money every year to cover health cost of Irish ppl who have worked in the UK and then retired back home to Ireland the location of northern Ireland and cheaper goods as made it worse for southern Ireland economically as the republic of Ireland
