Read this excerpt from The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. I had a long walk home and no company, but I usually lone it anyway, for no reason except that I like to watch movies undisturbed so I can get into them and live them with the actors. Belonging to a community is important. Being alone is not always a bad thing. Family life is not always easy. Hard work can overcome obstacles.
