Which statement is true? A. Slavery never ended in the United States. B. Slavery in the United States ended in 1776. C. Slavery ended in the United States after the Civil War. D. Slavery never existed in the United States.
well, um, A isnt true, nor D
and our founding fathers had slaves...
im thinking B because they ended 8 months after the civial war and C says after the war
"And most aren't aware that slavery in this country didn't officially end until Dec. 6, 1865, the day the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified. It didn't end on Jan. 1, 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln issued his Emancipation Proclamation." I found this. Does this help you?
The civil war was fought in the 1860's so see if that helps
yea i got it thanks guys
on to my next question
I do not think it is B because 1776 is the year the Declaration of Independence was adopted. They just throw out years you may know to trick you.
OK =)
I will try and help out best I can.
