how do i factor 74x+74 I understand the common factor is 74 but where do I put x then?

OpenStudy (phi):

if you write it as 74*x + 74*1 and then "undo" the distribution

OpenStudy (phi):

remember the distributive property. example 2( 3+5) = 2*3 + 2*5 undoing it would change 2*3 + 2*5 "back to" 2*(3+5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so \[74(x+1)\]

OpenStudy (phi):

yes 74(x+1) as a check, distribute the 74 to get 74x + 74 which is what you started with.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok im getting it thanks
