or you can think of it this way 4 slots: A,B,C,D 32 choices for slot A 31 for slot B 30 for slot C 29 for slot D IF order mattered, then you'd have 32*31*30*29 = 863,040 different permutations but order does not matter, so you have to divide that previous result by 4! = 24 to correct for overcounting.
