Let's look at the question together: We have a total 4 thermometers. We have a total temp of -16.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think we should do to find the average temperature?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll give you a hint - a and b are both wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4? because 4 x 4 is 16?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Close. Notice the negative sign in front of the 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since there is a positive 4 for the thermometers, the only logical answer would be -4, as -4*4 = -16 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea small but big mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
