Help, please? If h(x) = 4x − 8 and j(x) = −x, solve h[j(3)] and select the correct answer below. −36 −20 1 4 It doesn't make sense to me :c

Nnesha (nnesha):

first find j(3) substitute x for 3 into j(x) function :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would be -3, right?

OpenStudy (ckallerid):

after you solve jx you plug that result into hx which is 4(-3) - 8

OpenStudy (ckallerid):

an nice profile picture!

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right j(-3) = -3 so \[\huge\rm h[j(3)]=h(-3)\] you can replace j(3) with -3 so substitute x for -3 into h(x) functio n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you ^^ Would it end up as -20?

Nnesha (nnesha):

:) yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

Nnesha (nnesha):

my pleasure :)
