Heredity does make a huge impact on the person's health. In simpler words, if the disease is in your parent's genes, 'Most likely' (Not in all cases) you are likely to get it. The constitution of our genes are blamed to it.

For example in diseases like Haemophilia, the male members are more likely to get affected while the females become the carriers. Queen Victoria's Family has many Haemophilia affected members.
