@steve816

OpenStudy (steve816):

why me? xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I heard people saying your good at checking and helping people.

OpenStudy (steve816):

Oh hahah alright cool.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. I already did work, and know what mode, median, mean, and rage is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you decide you would want to help.

OpenStudy (steve816):

Okay, I checked your answers. Number 1 and number 3 are right but number 2 is wrong.

OpenStudy (steve816):

So in order to find the median, you have to arrange the numbers from least to greatest right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, so 3,6,7,9,9,10.

OpenStudy (steve816):

now, if we start crossing out the numbers, we will get 3 6 7 9 9 10 6 7 9 9 7 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right.

OpenStudy (steve816):

We are left with 7 and 9, and since there are 2 numbers left, we find the mean of those 2 numbers.

OpenStudy (steve816):

7+9 = 16 16/2 = 8 So the median would be 8!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7+9/2=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much! what about the last 2 did you check them?

OpenStudy (steve816):

Yes, number 4 is perfect, but number 5 is not quite right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I kinda Figured, I'm not sure how to solve it.

OpenStudy (steve816):

Okay, so first, find the median of the 5 numbers 9 12 13 15 17 12 13 15 13 It's 13 right? Now you have to ask yourself, what other number can we add to 13 and if we divide the number by 2 it will be 14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHH it would be 15, because 13 + 15 = 28 / 2 = 14

OpenStudy (steve816):

Exactly! You got this!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks again so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5/5 awesome!

OpenStudy (steve816):

You're welcome :)
