Which equation is y = 2x2 – 8x + 9 rewritten in vertex form?
y = 2(x – 2)2 + 9
y = 2(x – 2)2 + 5
y = 2(x – 2)2 + 1
y = 2(x – 2)2 + 17

ok we are going to leave out the +9 and factor the (2x^2 -8x)
2(x-2)^2
Now add the 9 back on
y = 2(x-2)^2 + 9
