Solve x2 + 4x + 8 = 0. x equals negative 2 plus or minus 2 I x equals negative 2 plus or minus 4 I x equals negative 4 plus or minus 2 I x equals negative 4 plus or minus 4 I

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

hey! what way do you know of to solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is a quadratic, you can factor if you wish. it is the easiest way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2 + 4x + 8 = 0 But that cannot factor so we need to use the quadratic equation: ax^2 + bx + c = 0 is what you have quadratic formula: (-b +- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a Plug in your numbers and you will get two values for x.
