Does anyone want to help explain my Geometry problem ? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So this is Problem 2. The distance from A to B is 143 mi., and from B to C on another road, 57 mi. The distance from A to D is 143 mi., and from D to E on another road is 57 mi. Compare the distance from A to C by way of B with he distance form A to E by way of D. THIS was my first problem and I drew this all out and added up them to 20each so I said they were equal.

Now the next questions says this and this is the one I do not understand at all. 3. In exercise 2, if it is 70 mi. from A to M on the road to B and 70 mi, from A to N on the road to D, compare the distance from M to B with he distance form N to D.

So basically I don't understand the 2nd one at all- can anyone help explain this to me ? it would be helpful.. I will fan you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just don't understand where M came form and what I need to add up.
