Question

in the 2A problem set "2A-3 Find the linearization at 0 of by using the basic approximation
1 + 2x
formulas, and also by using (2)." what does it mean when it says "(2)". Is there a formula sheet that im not seeing?

when they created 18.01SC they used 18.01 as the basis, and added additional material, broke up the lectures into smaller chunks, etc.
However, they left out links to some additional reading material, which you find here

You will want section A, "Approximation" in that list of write-ups.
