OpenStudy (christian_10_):

What is the value of the expression 8–2? A. –16 B. 1/64 C. 1/16 D. 64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d

OpenStudy (precal):

Do you mean 8(-2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (precal):

8 times -2 is -16 because positive times negative is negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It must be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because the answers are not 8-2=6

OpenStudy (christian_10_):

But the question didn't have Parentheses would that change anything?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

or do you mean \[8^{-2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8^{-2}=\frac{1}{8^2}\] si as start

OpenStudy (christian_10_):

so C? because it was 8-2 Squared. so would it be C?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

no it is not entirely clear what you wrote: can you confirm that the equation is the same as I wrote above? i.e. 8 raise to the power of -2
