7 years ago, Samir was 3 times as old as Deepak. In 4 years, Samir will be twice as old as Deepak. What is Deepak’s present age? 

The first thing to do with these is to pick some sensible variables.  So S and D will work OR, there are ways to do it with just 1...  Then you need to make some equations, one or two depending on how you set it up, then solve.
