List the dimensions of your box. Be sure to include the units (in, cm, ft., etc.). What does that mean? Ex.?

O_O sorry mate i don't know love

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm what's the context?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought it would mean like the width and length

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm I'd think so... but we don't have context to go with that so... could be, who knows

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. List the dimensions of your box. Be sure to include the units (in, cm, ft., etc.). 2. Describe the shape of the cross section when the box is cut parallel to the base. 3. What is the surface area of the box? 4. What is the surface area of the box if it is scaled up by a factor of 10? 5. What is the volume of the box? 6. What is the volume of the box if it is scaled down by a factor of ½? Thats what i have to do so i think thats what it meant

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm ok... so.. are you meant to get a box at first? just any box?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

or.... where does the box come from? UPS? Fedex? closet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can be anything as long as it is a rectangular prism

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

ok... so start there then, pick one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I picked a notebooke

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*notebook

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

1. List the dimensions of your box. Be sure to include the units (in, cm, ft., etc.). <---- do that then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Height – 10 ½ inches Width – ¼ centimeters Length – 8 1/8 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand step 2

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm it'd be simpler to use the same unit of measurement you know, for all dimensions :)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

1/4 cm... hmm how much is that... hmmm well is easier to just convert the inches to cm's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But the width is not inches it would be 0.0984252 in inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i can convert them to inches

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... ok... I guess you could use that kinda tiny, but you'd end up doing some calculations with it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Height – 10 ½ inches =26.67 Width – ¼ centimeters Length – 8 1/8 inches =20.6375 that would be converted into inches

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

lemme see if I can just make a box here, and for the sake of simplicity, let us use that but you'd need to do the same with yours |dw:1440462147996:dw|
