OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Multi variable calculus. What function R^2 -> R has no critical points?

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

So I need to write something like f(x,y) = 3xy +x^2 but when I derivate I should not be able to solve them, right?

OpenStudy (empty):

Well there are multiple ways you could do this, you can just combine functions that normally don't have critical points on R->R, for instance f(x)=x is just a line, no critical points, so you could make a plane, f(x,y)=x+y which will have no critical points either.

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Thanks. I just noticed it. Used e^x
