If LMN is dilated by a scale factor of 0.5, which of the following statements is not true? A. The sides of LMN are congruent to the sides of L'M'N'. B. L'M'N' is smaller than LMN. C. LMN is similar to L'M'N'. D. The angles of LMN are congruent to the angles of L'M'N'.
I think A? How can the sides be congruent if it is dilated down a size?
The angles remain the same as even dilated triangles remain within the same angle proportion.
i got C
But how is that not true? A dilation keeps a triangle similar to the original, as it only modifies proportion, not the shape.
it not congruent because it does not have the same side lengths buts its similar because when you dilate a figure the angles stay the same
Yes but it asks 'which of the statements are not true' so hence like you said the triangle is not congruent.
dang your right thank you
haha my pleasure :)
always remember to read the question :)
ok thank u
