Does this short essay answer the question below? How did the program make you look at film-making in a different way?

After watching Visions of Light, I can safely say that the program had let me see film in a way that I didn’t before. When people watch movies, they generally focus on what is in front of them even if that’s the experience that many directors and cinematographers aim for. The perspective shared with me throughout the program were the directors. Originally, I used to try to look at film in one-way where there would be actors, a plot, and a beginning, middle and end. Never had I actually viewed a piece from the director’s point of view. For example, I’ve watched Citizen Kane before and enjoyed the story yet, I hadn’t watched it from a director’s outlook. The program explained the effort and creative dexterity that cinematographer’s applied to their craft and explored the dangers and feats many had to go through in order to produce such beautiful scenes. I can’t look at film the same way without wanting to know how they achieved a certain angle or how they played with the lighting or if they messed up and ended up with an intriguing effect. Film is a medium in which it can be manipulated or molded into the cinematographer’s desired outlook. Obviously, movie goers don’t watch films to see it from the director’s perspective and some don’t exactly admire or care for the creative input of the cinematographer. Even though that is a sad fact, one thing is for sure, that I will be admiring every moment, good or bad, due to Visions of Light.

Your essay does indeed do a good job answering the question, and I say this while still holding in consideration the possibility that there are going to be a range of different answers to that question. Are you being evaluated STRICTLY on the content of the essay?

Yes!! Thank you! Yes, I just have to find to way to answer the question as well as relate it to the film that we watched in class. You are amazing, Kanra! Thanks again!!

It was no trouble at all, I am always around to help. One little comment I want to make is that your essay would sound more convincing and professional with a proper opening and conclusion, other than that, your essay is not bad.
