Hey, just need a quick explanation on what I should do for this problem. 3x greater than or equal to -12 AND 8x less than or equal to 16. I must graph them once I get the solution. I've already gotten x is less than or equal to -4 for the first equation and x is greater than or equal to 2 for the second part. My main issue is that when it says AND in the beginning part doesn't that mean that they should overlap when I graph it? Did I do it wrong? I thought I was supposed to flip the signs when I divide.

how did you go from `3x greater than or equal to -12` to `x is less than or equal to -4` ??

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The sign does not flip here. You divide both sides by 3, which is a positive number. The sign only flips if you divide both sides by a negative number.

Ohhh, if it's only by a negative number then I understand. Thank you :P

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Yeah the sign will also flip if you multiply both sides by a negative number

Alright, good to know, I thought it was if it was divided at all. Thank you very much! I'll give you a medal :)

you're welcome
