This is what I think (since I wasn't too good at probability much in school): We have here 5 candies in total, and we need to the find the colors in the American flag (white, red, and/or blue). From the colors that they have, it only looks like red and blue is there. So we would take 5 (total or the denominator) and have 2 (the number of colors that resembles the American flag from the bunch or the numerator). \[P = \frac{ 2 }{ 5 }\]
