Memory refresher..

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Solve the equation by factoring. x^2= 2x+24

Nnesha (nnesha):

set it equal to 0

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

So I minus 2x+24 to the other side correct?

Nnesha (nnesha):

to factor it you need the equation in the standard form \[\huge\rm Ax^2+Bx+C=0\]

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

So that its x^2-2x-24=0

Nnesha (nnesha):

looks good :=) now there 3 + ways to factor out the quadratic equation easy one is to find `two numbers` when you multiply them you should get product of `AC` but when you `add or subtract` them you should get middle term a=leading coefficient b=middle term c=constant term

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

(x+4)(x-6)

Nnesha (nnesha):

-6 times 4 =-24 -6+2 = -2 good to go! \(\huge\color{green}{\checkmark}\)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

x=-4 and 6 is the solution set

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right solutions ,x-intercept or zeros

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Thank you

Nnesha (nnesha):

np :=)
