4 + 9 = 13. Rational pi * 5 = 5pi. Pi is not rational because it cannot be written as a fraction nor a ratio. 3.4545.... * 1.2 = A repeating number times a rational number. .45 repeating can be expressed as a ratio of two numbers. Therefore rational. \[\sqrt{16} * \sqrt{4} = 4 * 2 = 8. \] Rational. Finally, \[\sqrt{7} * \sqrt{2} = \sqrt{14}\] ONe would think that sqrt(14) is indeed rational, however a proof by contradiction which I won't go in to, proves it is not. Therefore it is not rational.
