@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

the area of the rectangle is: 6.5*3=...?

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

I have the area of the rectangle which is 6.5 times 3 = 19.5

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

how do I calculate a circle in half

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

ok! Now I see that the radius of the half-circle is 1.5, so the area of the half-circle is: \[\Large \frac{{3.14 \cdot {{1.5}^2}}}{2} = ...?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(flat half) *3.14/2

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

3.534 so then 19.5+3.534=23.03 so the 1.5 comes from being the radius of the circle

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes!

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Thank you again I really appreciate it!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

:)
